Livewire is a more traditional style AR15 receiver, but still unlike anything else out there with looks all its own: Heavily flared mag well, ambidextrous bolt release, a stepped transition between trigger guard and mag well, threaded bolt catch pin, threaded rear takedown pin recess and extremely clean lines all around.
As of July 2021, Livewire is now made from a forging and it truly sets a new standard in forged lower receivers. Each Livewire starts life as a 7075 aluminum billet that is first heated to 800 degrees and then forged into a near final shape with a custom tool and the pressure of a 4100 ton press.
Post forging, the receiver goes through final machine operations on our CNCs. This process reduces both material cost and machine time without hindering our ability to deliver the master-level craftsmanship we’re known for.
Made from a custom 7075-T6 forging. Anodized black. Threaded bolt catch pin included.

This is a very handsome piece of equipment. Structurally sound, very finely finished, all parts mated up great. The screw on the bolt catch pin and threaded rear takedown pin recess make assembly even easier (I got all my parts, although I did't know at first that the long "plunger" that came with the lower was to enable the built-in ambidextrous bolt realease). I emailed the Bros. at Sharps and got a fast, helpful answer to my questions. Thanks!
I picked this lower up from my LGS. The clean lines and flared magwell got my attention. I like the simple, clean and understated look this lower has but then there's this awesome flared magwell that just makes it look like all business! The ambi bolt release is quite nice. This lower is super clean, tight, and just screams quality. The LPK I used fit very nicely and functions flawlessly so far.
- I also had an opportunity to see their communication and customer service and it was excellent. Somehow, the parts that are included for the ambi bolt release didn't make it home with me from the LGS when i purchased, and John Sharps personally emailed me back and made sure I got the necessary parts promptly to complete the lower.
